Please note this position is based our of Network office in Roxbury, MA, with travel to all three school locations and external events required. 

City on a Hill Charter Public Schools seeks a passionate and relentless Recruiter to work as part of a collaborative Human Resources Team.  You will partner with our schools and leadership to attract and select world class educators that believe in our mission.  CoaH is looking for a go-getter who will execute on a high volume of searches by creatively and aggressively sourcing talent pools, maintaining consistent and efficient processes, and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.  This position will report into the Director of Human Resources.  
Talent Pipeline Management

  • Design and manage a long-term pipeline-building strategy to meet City on a Hill’s growing hiring needs and play a lead role in executing on that plan year-round
  • In collaboration with the Human Resources Team, identify City on a Hill’s hiring priorities and determine the key levers in building pools of diverse, highly-qualified candidates to meet those needs
  • Continuously build your understanding of City on a Hill’s roles, teams, and strategic priorities so that you can engage with prospects, referrals, and connectors in a meaningful way
  • Sell City on a Hill and promote open and upcoming roles in conversations with prospective candidates, quickly assessing interests and strengths in order to direct them to the best fit roles
  • Think boldly about opportunities to streamline, revamp and/or build recruitment processes to enable the Human Resources Team to better track progress towards goals and manage projects to bring those ideas to life
  • Support the highest impact strategies to promote City on a Hill’s talent brand (e.g. City on a Hill’s Careers page, etc.) in collaboration with City on a Hill’s Development Team
  • Manage external recruitment-related vendors (e.g. LinkedIn, Glassdoor, etc.) and identify new vendors/partners that will help us meet our hiring targets
  • Leverage others across City on a Hill to cultivate prospects and support them in building their capacity to be recruitment ambassadors
  • Motivate and inspire others to be talent brand ambassadors for City on a Hill, deploying them to cultivate candidates

Interview Logistics & Design

  • Conduct application reviews and phone interviews in a friendly, efficient, and rigorous manner.
  • Lead all City on a Hill Interview Days, including scheduling, reserving spaces, and ordering materials as needed
  • Use data to set and track ambitious goals, inform decisions, and influence stakeholders throughout the recruitment process

Human Resources Support

  • Partner closely with Human Resources Team members to align recruitment and hiring/onboarding strategies and leverage search-related data to problem solve as needed, identifying new opportunities to attract candidates to open positions
  • In collaboration with the Director of Human Resources, Diversity, & Inclusion, design and lead trainings for hiring managers, senior leaders, and others across the organization to learn best practices in building and leveraging their networks
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Human Resources, Diversity, & Inclusion and/or the Chief of Staff & General Counsel


  • Belief that every student, regardless of background, can and must achieve academically at high levels
  • 2-3 years of full life-cycle recruitment experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A passion for the mission of CoaH
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented, mission-driven culture
  • Demonstrates a growth mindset and a desire to continually improve through feedback
  • Strong work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit and flexibility to accommodate high level of responsibility, multiple priorities, and rapidly changing environment
  • Exceedingly strong organization skills
  • Superb written and oral communication skills
  • Travel within the MA regional area will be required


  • Successful grades 9-12 teaching and/or recruitment experience highly preferred
  • Master’s Degree preferred and/ or SHRM-CP
  • Familiar with BambooHR or similar ATS/HRIS systems preferred
